Professional Division
Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program
BFA students are subject to Fordham University undergraduate tuition and fees. No additional tuition is paid to The Ailey School, however BFA students are required to pay a Physical Therapy Services fee to The Ailey School each semester. Please visit the Fordham University website for current tuition costs.
2023-2024 Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are due prior to the start of each semester during the designated registration deadlines.
Certificate Program

2023-2024 Scholarship Program Fees
Scholarship awards cover tuition only. Housing costs are the sole responsibility of the award recipient.
Level 1: $720 ($360 per semester)
Level 2: $1020 ($510 per semester)

- Audition Fee: $20 (one time fee)
- BFA Audition Fee: $35 (one time fee)
- International Student Fee: $50 (one time fee for new students only)
- Annual Registration Fee: $50 (due every year)
- Physical Therapy fee: $260 ($130 per semester)
2023 Summer Intensive
Summer costs include the annual $50 registration fee & $300 advance deposit. Discounts are available if paid by the early payment deadlines listed.
Cost of the 5-week Summer Intensive:

Summer Scholarship Participation fees - 5-week session only
Students may be awarded a merit-based scholarship based on their audition. Scholarship awards cover the cost of tuition only. Registration fees, Audition fees, Participation fees, and Housing costs are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
- Level 1 Scholarship - $250 (includes a $50 registration fee)
- Level 2 Scholarship - $375 (includes a $50 registration fee)
Scholarship fees are due in full by April 14, 2023

Withdrawals, Refunds and Return of Financial Aid
Refunds
Tuition and fees are subject to change. All fees and required tuition deposits are non-refundable and will be deducted from the total tuition refund. Refunds will be pro-rated according to the School's published refund policy.
Withdrawals
To obtain an official withdrawal, students must submit a Withdrawal Form to their Faculty Advisor, who will then submit it to The Ailey School Directors. The tuition charge will be assessed according to the student's last date of attendance and the School's published refund policy.
Return of Title IV Aid and Early Withdrawal
If you receive Federal Financial Aid you may owe a cash payment to The Ailey School or the Federal Government by withdrawing from school. In short, you have not “earned” the aid you have received until you complete 60% of term in which you receive aid.
The amount of aid that you can keep (i.e., earned) is calculated as follows: Aid You Can Keep = (No. of Days Completed ÷ No. of Days in the Term Including Weekends) x Aid Received
Federal financial aid is available for qualifying Certificate and Independent Study Program students.
Junior Division
Pre-Professional Tuition
Pre-professional tuition varies from $1,157/year to $4,184/year depending on level and number of classes per week. The minimum payment required to complete registration is the first tuition installment + required fees.
A new payment system is in place for the 2023-2024 school year.

First Steps and Bounding Boys

Other Fees during the School Year
- Annual Registration Fee: $50
- Optional Physical Therapy fee - (level III & higher): $65 per semester
