The Ailey School

Scott Willits hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota where he began his training at Summit School of Dance. He graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in New York. Other training includes summer studies at the Juilliard School and Springboard Danse Montréal, where he performed repertory by Fernando Melo and Tom Weinberger. He has also performed works by Dwight Rhoden, Darrell Grande Moultrie, Julie Bour, Earl Mosley, Julian Barnett, and Norbert De La Cruz III. In 2009, Mr. Willits received a youngARTS Merit award in modern dance from the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts as well as the 1st place contemporary dance award at the Youth American Grand Prix.

Mr. Willits has had the opportunity to present his work at Peridance Capezio Theater and with the JUNTOS Collective in New York and abroad. Professionally, Mr. Willits dances with OUI DANSE, RudduR Dance and Nimbus Dance Works in New York City.
