Jessica Black was born and raised in Fargo, ND. At the age of 3, she began studying gymnastics and then dance at 7 years old. With the love and support from her parents, she was able to move to NYC to further her training at several ballet schools in the city. These schools included Ballet Academy East, Studio Maestro, Edward Ellison Ballet, and summer camps at the Joffrey, Belvoir Terrace, and American Ballet Theater. Jessica had the opportunity to perform classical variations from Swan Lake, La Bayadere, PaQuita, Don Quixote, and Balanchine's Episodes and La Source. Jessica graduated from the prestigious LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts.

Upon graduating, she received the Jacques d'Amboise ballet award and a scholarship to train at The Ailey School. Jessica performed alongside Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Mr. Ailey’s work, "Memoria.” Since 2008, Jessica has been dancing professionally as a freelance dancer in New York City. She has worked for several companies including Edgar Cortes Dance Theater, Ballets with a Twist, the Eglevsky Ballet Nutcracker, DeMa Dance Company, TranscendanceGroup, MoralesDance, and most recently with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (CATS)
