Barry Harwood

Pianist

Barry Harwood began studying piano at the age of eight with his father, and as a teen took up blues and rock guitar.  He began his professional musical career playing for dance at Boston Conservatory while attending Berklee College of Music.  While there he studied jazz piano with Ray Santizi and classical with Mme. Margaret Chalof.  Later were years of tours as musical director for many productions including Dreamgirls, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Hair, and on Broadway and around the world with Oh! Calcutta!  He is presently composing for dance, playing for American Ballet Theatre, and thrilled to be working with The Ailey School and Company.
