Student Visa Instructions
Student Visa Instructions
Thank you for your interest in the full-time training programs at The Ailey School! As an international student, you must obtain an F-1 Student Visa if you plan to enroll for the full-time programs in the 2024-2025 academic year. (Students attending only the Summer Intensive DO NOT need to apply for a student visa, and will be contacted with instructions on how to enter the U.S. in the correct visa status after they are accepted.)
The Ailey School Director of Admissions will assist you with the visa process. It is not possible to apply for an F-1 student visa without the assistance of The Ailey School or before you have been accepted! In order to apply for an F-1 visa at the U.S. Consulate in your home country you will need a form called the "I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 Nonimmigrant Student Status", which you can only obtain from The Ailey School Admissions Office after fulfilling the requirements listed below.
Getting Started
The process of obtaining an F-1 Student Visa can take several months. You will be required to obtain an I-20 Form from The Ailey School in order to apply for your visa at the U.S. consulate in your home country. The Director of Admissions will assist accepted students through this process. We recommend you begin the process immediately after being accepted to The Ailey School.
The final deadline to submit documentation for your I-20 form for the 2023-2024 school year is May 1, 2023. Please submit the following items to The Ailey School Admissions Office by email admissions@alvinailey.org

Upon acceptance to The Ailey School
