The Ailey School

Anna Rotllant-Estelrich is from Barcelona, Spain. She started dancing ballet, contemporary and flamenco at the age of 8 in La Fàbrica Llobet, a small studio in Calella, Barcelona. After primary school, Anna was accepted to the dance conservatory Institut del Teatre, in Barcelona, where she graduated in 2020 obtaining a professional degree in contemporary dance. During this time she had the chance to train deeper in ballet, contemporary techniques, partnering, contact/improvisation, martial arts, and music. She performed works by Lali Ayguadé and HUMANHOOD, directed by Julia Robert and Rudi Cole. In 2019 she attended The Ailey School Summer Intensive and performed Brink by Janice Rosario in the Summer Sizzler performance in the Ailey Citigroup Theater. In 2021 Anna moved permanently to New York to train in The Ailey School Certificate Program. During her first year she performed Awakening, a work by Robert Battle, former Artistic Director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, at the 2022 Spirit Gala at Lincoln Center David H. Koch Theater. The following year she performed An Undercurrent by Levi Marsman, and Clouded by Janice Rosario in the January Explosion performance at The Ailey Citigroup Theater. Anna is currently a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group (ASPG) and is a 2024 graduate of the Certificate Program.
