Rachel Newton

BFA Program Class of 2024

Rachel Newton grew up in the south Chicagoland area and studied dance at Salt Creek Ballet under Sergey Kozadayev and Zhanna Dubrovskya, graduates of the Vaganova Ballet Academy and principals of the St. Petersburg State Ballet. Rachel has performed in many classical ballets such as La Bayadère, Le Corsaire, and Paquita and danced principal roles in The Nutcracker, Flower Festival in Genzano, and Alice in Wonderland. Rachel attended the Ailey/Fordham BFA program, where she was a recipient of an Ailey Artistic Scholarship. She graduated in 2024 with a double major in Dance and Digital Technology/Emerging Media. Rachel has had the privilege to perform in works by Alex Anderson, Ethan Colangelo, Mark Caserta, Helen Simmoneau, Winston Dynamite Brown, Katlin Bourgeois, Alysia Johnson, and Eddy Ocampo. She enjoyed summers with Visceral Dance Chicago, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, and Common Conservatory. Rachel is very excited and eager to pursue a performance career and share her love of dance with the world.
