Kristen Gottlieb

BFA Program Class of 2024

Kirsten Gottlieb was born in Washington D.C. and raised in Maryland where she began dancing at the age of three at her local dance studio. She continued her dance training at the Peabody Institute (Baltimore, MD) under the direction of Melissa Stafford where she trained in ballet and modern techniques, and at Turning Pointe Dance Academy (Hanover, MD) where she pursued competitive dance under the direction of Elaine Seidman. Throughout her training, Kirsten attended intensives such as Joffrey West, the Peridance Blueprint Intensive, and the East Coast Cecchetti Conference. During her time at The Ailey School, she had the opportunity to perform works by choreographers such as Rebecca Margolick, Madison Hicks, Hollie Wright, and Roderick George and she has also had the honor to work with Christopher Huggins, Nicholas Palmquist and Julie Magneville through other ventures. Kirsten graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program as a double major in Communications & Media Studies and began working at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in their Programming department her senior year. She hopes to make the arts more accessible to all artists by combining her passion for dance and the performing arts with her interest in arts management, programming, and production.
