Isabella Solomon

BFA Program Class of 2024

Isabella Solomon was born in Severna Park, Maryland. They started dancing at the age of 12 at a local studio, Creative Force Dance. She fell in love with dance after taking Jazz and Ballet once a week. They began their professional training at 15 at Baltimore School for the Arts, where she trained with Iris Andersen-Grizzell, Samantha Christensen, Debra Deckelbaum, Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Laura Halm, Sandy Lacy, Dimitri Malikov, Norma Perra, Anton Wilson, and Lan Zheng. They performed works set by Doug Baum, Stephanie Martinez, the Balanchine Trust, and Barry Hughson. She spent her early training at the Butler Ballet and LINES Ballet summer programs. After high school she continued her studies at Connecticut College where she trained with David Dorfman, Ellie Goudie-Averill, Heidi Henderson, Shawn Hove, and Lisa Race. Isabella then transferred to the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program to pursue dance in New York. She has since performed works by Alex Anderson, Peter Chu, Flockworks, Maddison Hicks, Rebecca Margolick, Annie Rigney, Nattie Trogan and Hollis Hobart. During her breaks from school she has participated in Gaga labs with Kyle Schuerich, Ben Green, Billy Barry, and Shamel Pitts. Isabella is a dedicated student who double majored in Dance and Psychology. They have been fortunate enough to learn from the incredible teachers at The Ailey School and hopes to continue dancing professionally before going back to school to get her doctorate degree to become a Child Psychologist.
