Charlotte Boegel

BFA Program Class of 2024

Charlotte Boegel (Sykesville, MD) began her dance training at Carroll County Dance Center and Ballet Conservatory (Eldersburg, MD) at the age of four. Receiving instruction in Classical Ballet, Graham-based modern, Limon, Jazz, and Tap, Charlotte knew from a young age that dance was more than an after-school activity; it was something she wanted to pursue at a professional level. In high school, she received partial and full merit scholarships to attend The Ailey School Summer Intensive in 2018 and 2019, where she was eventually invited to participate in the Junior Division Pre-Professional Program at The Ailey School year-round. While there, she trained with Lisa Attles, Shay Bland, Elena Commendador, Adrienne Hurd, Graciela Kozak, Earl Mosley, Cassandra Phifer, and Christian Von Howard. Continuing to pursue dance at the collegiate level as a student in the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, Charlotte had the opportunity to perform works by Alexander Anderson, Madison Hicks, and Rebecca Margolick. In the spring of 2023, Charlotte had the privilege of performing alongside the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Hope Boykin’s Chasing the Spirit in the 2023 annual Spirit Gala and in Mr. Ailey’s Flight Time, an excerpt from his ballet Phases, cast and set by Renee Robison. In addition to her major in dance, she double majored in English and hopes to pursue a career in law in the future. Charlotte is full of gratitude and respect for the artists she shared space with during her time in the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow as an artist and person.
