The Ailey School

Originally from the Bay Area, Abigail (Abby) Nguyen began her dance training at a local studio where she was introduced to a variety of dance techniques and styles. Wanting to pursue concert dance, she moved to New York City to attend the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program as a double major in dance and psychology. Throughout her time at Ailey, Abby has performed works by Maleek Washington and Roderick George. She has also participated in the New Directions Choreography Lab, where she has been fortunate enough to work with Nattie Trogdon, Hollis Bartlett, Annie Rigney, Babacar Top, and Marla Phelan. Abby participated in the Ailey Spirit Gala, where she performed in the premiere of Hope Boykin’s Chasing the Spirit alongside the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II. To supplement her training, she has attended summer intensives at Parsons Dance, Pacific Northwest Ballet, The Ailey School, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet. Abby is excited to step into the professional world and further her dance career.
