Shota Sekiguchi

Freelance dancer

Shota Sekiguchi is originally from Gunma, Japan. After graduating high school, he moved to New York and was accepted to The Ailey School, were he trained in a wide range of dance styles. Shota was one of several students chosen to represent The Ailey School in the 2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and was among a select group who performed in the 2020 Holland Dance Festival.  He was a member of the Ailey Student Performance group and is a graduate of the Certificate Program, class of 2021. Shota has produced and choreographed an evening length work in Japan entitled “ Hadaka”.  He has performed in the Charlie Brown Christmas Spectacular in Kings Island and has appeared in a RedKen industrial that was choreographed by Bonnie Story.  Shota is currently working on an upcoming project for Lincoln Center called English With An Accent. He is represented by The Movement Talent Agency where he is pursuing a career in dance and theater.
