The Ailey School

Sara Alessia Giannini was born in Bari, Italy. She trained at the Accademia dello Spettacolo Unika in ballet, Horton, contemporary, hip hop, and jazz. At the age of 17, Sara began assisting and teaching at her studio. At the age of 20, she moved to New York City to enroll in the Certificate program at The Ailey School.  As a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group, she had the pleasure to work with choreographers such as Janice Rosario, Orazio Caiti, and Hollie Wright.  Sara had the opportunity to perform at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2022 opening night at New York City Center in Mauro Bigonzetti's “Festa Barocca”, directed by Clifton Brown. Sara is a graduate of the Certificate Program, class of 2023 and currently dances with companies such as Salvatore Larussa Dance Theater and Ikada Dance Company.
