Sanchit Babbar

Freelance Dancer, Actor and Professional Coach

Sanchit Babbar was born in India. He began his dance training under the direction of Anthony Noa at Deutsche Opera Berlin, Artistic Director Northern Plains Ballet, and with the Indian Bollywood choreographer, Ashley Lobo. Sanchit attended the The Ailey School on full scholarship, where he performed works by Ray Mercer, Darshan Singh Bhuller, Tracy Inman, and Jamar Roberts, among others.

Sanchit’s performance highlights include Nick Cave’s Heard-NY, performed at New York’s Grand Central Terminal, In The Void choreographed by Matthew Rushing performed at the 2013 Park Avenue Armory Gala, Oakland Ballet in the principal role of Mowgli in “Jangala” based on the Jungle Book, and with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Hope Boykin’s A Grateful Gathering and in Alvin Ailey’s classic work Revelations. He has also danced with Western Colorado Dance Theater.

Sanchit has personally coached dance leaders such as Mimi Paul and Deborah Wingert Arkin of New York City Ballet, Renee Robinson, former principle dancer with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Andy LeBeau of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance Company, and Clifton Brown of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, among others. He is currently working as a dancer, actor and a teacher in Paris, France.
