Nicholas Hall

Freelance dancer

Nicholas Hall is originally from Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. He received his dance training from the Sharron Miller Academy of the Performing Arts and New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble directed by Nancy Turano. He attended Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts where he performed The Dark Meadows Suite choreographed by Martha Graham and restaged by former Principal Dancers Miki Orihara and Tadej Brdnik. The piece was performed at Rutgers' seasonal dance concert DancePlus in December of 2016, as well as The Martha Graham Dance Company's University Partners School Showcase at The Joyce Theater. While at Rutgers, he worked with choreographers and teachers such as Randy James, Sherry Alban, Peggy Pettaway, Marielis Garcia, Paul Ocampo, Keith Thompson, and Carlye Eckert. Nicholas attended summer intensives at The Ailey School and at Movement Invention Project under the direction of Francesca Harper and Nancy Turano. He has worked with choreographers such as Adam Barruch, Henning Rubsaum, Gabrielle Lamb and Elisa Clark. He has performed in Troy Powell's work entitled 'Testimony' at The Ailey School’s 50th Anniversary Benefit Concert, and at the annual Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Spirit Gala at Lincoln Center in 2019. Nicholas has also performed with Awaken Dance Theater in the summer of 2018. Nicholas has worked with choreographers such Heather Robles, Breton Tyner-Brian, LaMar Baylor, Levi Marsman, Isadora Wolfe, Jeff Docimo and Stefanie Batten-Bland.  He hopes to dance on Broadway or in a contemporary ballet company.  He is a graduate of the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, class of 2020.
