Janel Fitzgerald

Freelance dancer

Janel Fitzgerald was born and raised in Connecticut where she trained at the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance.  She has attended summer intensives at the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory, The Hartt School, ABT North Carolina, and The Ailey School. At the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance Janel performed Martha Graham’s Steps in the Street.  She has also performed works by Tina Bush, Robert Battle, Janice Rosario, and Jacqulyn Buglisi. Janel is a double major in Dance and Psychology in the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in Dance. Upon graduation, she intends to audition for project-based dance companies, as well as pursuing a Masters Degree in Psychology. Janel is a graduate of the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program, class of 2020. She plans to combine her two passions and become a psychotherapist for dancers specializing in eating disorders, injuries, stress management, and career change.
