Hailey Carr

Freelance Dancer

Hailey Carr was born in Texas and raised in Ottawa, Canada, where she began her dance training at an early age. She trained in various styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, and musical theatre, and she successfully completed her R.A.D Advanced 1 Ballet examination. Throughout her training in Ottawa, she performed in ballet productions including The Nutcracker, and participated in Dancers Give Back Ottawa, an annual charity event in support of youth mental health initiatives. Hailey attended Canterbury High School in the Arts Canterbury Dance Program and graduated with a Fine Arts Certificate in Dance with Distinction. After high school, Hailey moved to New York to continue her dance training at The Ailey School, where she completed the Independent Study Program and later joined the Certificate Program. Hailey was among a small group of students chosen to perform with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II in Alvin Ailey’s Memoria during the 2021 New York City Center season. As a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group, she has learned Ailey repertory works under the direction of Mr. Freddie Moore and has worked with renowned dancers and choreographers such as Patrick Coker, Hollie Wright and Amy Hall.  Hailey is a graduate of The Ailey School Certificate Program, class of 2022.
