Emerick Ligonde

Emerick Ligonde is from Miami, Florida, where he began training in Latin ballroom, salsa, ballet and hip hop at Hotspot Dance Studio under the direction of Marielena Martinez. Emerick continued to train in ballet, contemporary, and hip hop at Focal Point Dance Studio in Miami under the direction of Amanda Tae. Upon moving to New York, he entered The Ailey School Certificate Program and is currently a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group (ASPG). He has worked with several choreographers such as Andrew Winghart, Liz Emperio, Jennifer Archibald, Troy Powell, Hope Boykin, Teddy Tedholm and more. Emerick has performed in New York City venues such as Lincoln Center and City Center with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and the Ailey Citygroup Theatre with Buglisi Dance Theatre. He is a graduate of the Certificate Program, class of 2020, and plans to pursue a career in both commercial and concert dance.
