The Ailey School

Doria Marchena was born and raised in Panama City, Panama, where she began her training at a very early age in a local dance studio, Body Language. She later developed love for other dance styles and started training at G&G Dance Studio and Ballet Academy. She has also complemented her studies with intensive courses at American Ballet Theater (ABT) and Ballet Hispanico. Doria has performed as an apprentice for the National Ballet of Panama in classical and contemporary repertoire until 2019 when she moved to New York to begin her studies at The Ailey School.  During her time at The Ailey School, she performed at New York City Center Theater with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Mr. Ailey's work Memoria, directed by Ronni Favors.  Doria is a graduate of The Ailey School Certificate Program, class of 2022. She aspires to have a career with a contemporary ballet company and on Broadway.
