Dejah Poole

Dejah Lynn Poole is from Chicago, IL, where she developed the foundations of dance at the age of 3. Dejah is a graduate of Chicago High School for The Arts and later trained with Preston Miller. She has attended summer intensives at The Ailey School, Kyle Abraham in Motion, and Anthony Burrell Center for Dance. Ms. Poole has performed works by Darrell Grand Moultrie, Ray Mercer, Hope Boykin, Amy Hall, Kevin Iega Jeff, Jae Man Joo, Nijawwon Matthews-XY Dance Project, among others. In 2019 she was featured in Elaine Welteroth's “More Than Enough” video and performance with Lupita Nyong’o. Dejah trains under the mentorship of Nijawwon Matthews. She has been a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group (ASPG) at The Ailey School, and is a graduate of the Certificate Program, class of 2020.
