Ashley MacArthur

Freelance dancer

Ashley MacArthur began her dance training at a very early age at her mother’s school, Pique Dance Studio in Ottawa, Canada. She completed her teacher’s certification in Ballet and Tap with the B.A.T.D (British Association of Teachers of Dancing). She is proud to be a founding member of Dancers Give Back Ottawa where over $200,000 was raised in the first 5 years by local dancers for Youth Mental Health initiatives in the Ottawa area. Ashley is honoured to have represented Canada from 2012-2014 at the EDANCO Festival Internacional de Danza Contemporanea in Santo Domingo, DR, during which she had the opportunity to take classes at the renowned Escuela National de Danza (ENDANZA) in ballet & modern from international artists. She has performed on multiple television networks in promotions for the festival and performed on stage at the Palacio de Belles Artes. For over 10 years Ashley modelled dance wear for Hamilton Theatrical and Sixo Activewear in Canada. During her time at the Ailey School, Ashley has worked with renowned choreographers such as Darrell Grand Moultrie, Kirven Boyd, Shay Bland and Amy Hall Garner. She performed a work by Ashlynn Mason in The Ailey School's annual Global Harmony Performance. Ashley has been a member of the Ailey Student Performance Group (ASPG) and is a 2020 graduate of the Certificate Program.
