The Ailey School

Alec Shiman (Brookline, MA) grew up in the theater world, working throughout New England. His love for dance started in high school when he began training with Boston Youth Moves at Jeannette Neill Dance Studio.  Alec has had the opportunity to work with esteemed choreographers such as Bryce Mousset, Natalie Lamonte, and Jane Lanier. He has attended several summer intensives at The Ailey School, Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Urbanity Dance, and National High School Institute at Northwestern University. Alec has spent his last few years working in arts administration at Red Is Dancing and Bodystories: Teresa Fellion Dance. Alec graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in May 2022 with a minor in communication and culture. He splits his time between his passions for dance, physical theater, and arts administration.
