Archipelago is an abstract work to a score by Andre Boucourechlier for two pianos and two percussionists. The dance is in 2 sections and explores the possibilities of a contemporary dance vocabulary. It blends ballet and modern and uses dancers in groupings, some on point, some barefoot, and some in ballet shoes. Archipelago was performed at the ANTA Theater for only one season, 1971.
