Pre-Professional Program
The Ailey School’s Pre-Professional Program offers a diverse range of curriculum-based dance training classes taught by distinguished faculty for students ages 7-17 and offers performance opportunities for students from beginner to pre-professional. Auditions and class placement are required for this program.
Workshops and Masterclasses at Ailey Extension
Workshops are limited series or one-time-only classes with top choreographers, dancers, and professionals in the field with special themes and topics.
Daily Drop-in Classes at The Ailey Extension
Ailey Extension offers drop-in technique, dance fitness, and world dance classes to dancers of all levels in a welcoming, non-competitive environment. Classes are offered seven days a week both online via Zoom and in person at the Ailey Studios.
The Ailey School Professional Division Summer Intensive
Offering students between the ages of 16 and 25 an opportunity to study dance in the cultural center of the world – New York City.
Independent Study Program
A one-year program offering the same intensive dance technique training as the Certificate Program, without a three-year commitment.
Scholarship Program
A highly competitive program offering merit-based financial support for students ages 17-21 who show the highest potential for a career in dance.
Certificate Program
A three-year program for advanced/beginner to intermediate level students ages 17-23 who have completed their secondary school requirements.
Ailey/Fordham BFA Program
An innovative partnership between The Ailey School and Fordham University, combining dance and the liberal arts in a 4-year program.
