Ballet Hispanico

Shelby Colona began her dance training in her hometown of Kingwood, TX. Upon graduating from The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, she moved to New York where she attended The Ailey School’s three-year Certificate Program.  While at The Ailey School she performed works by Carole Armitage, Robert Battle, Peter Chu, Amy Hall, Tracy Inman, Loni Landon, and Matthew Rushing.  She also performed in Alvin Ailey’s “Memoria” and “Revelations” alongside Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at New York City Center.  Since then she has performed with Lunge Dance Collective, assisted in choreography for the NY Knicks City Dancers, and performed multiple works by emerging choreographer Malik Kitchen.  She is currently dancing as a company member with Ballet Hispanico.
