Thank you for your interest in the full-time training programs at The Ailey School! As an international student, you must obtain an F-1 Student Visa if you plan to enroll for the 2022-2023 academic year. The Ailey School Director of Admissions will assist you with this process, as it is not possible to apply for an F-1 student visa without the assistance of The Ailey School. In order to apply for an F-1 visa at the U.S. Consulate in your home country you will need a form called the "I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for F-1 Nonimmigrant Student Status", which you can only obtain from The Ailey School Admissions Office after fulfilling the requirements listed below.
The process of obtaining an F-1 Student Visa can take several months. You will be required to obtain an I-20 Form from The Ailey School in order to apply for your visa at the U.S. consulate in your home country. The Director of Admissions will assist accepted students through this process. We recommend you begin the process immediately after being accepted to The Ailey School.
The final deadline to submit documentation for your I-20 form is May 1. Please submit the following items to The Ailey School Admissions Office by email email@example.com

NOTE: All financial documentation must be in English and must indicate the U.S. dollar equivalent of whatever type of currency is reflected in the documentation. Statements that are not in English will not be accepted.
Upon acceptance to The Ailey School

Virtual Horton Workshop
Workshop Dates: Monday, July 12 - Friday, July 23
This virtual workshop will introduce the foundational components of the Lester Horton Technique as taught at the Ailey School. The approach and understanding of these foundational skills—including development of beginning level vocabulary, stretching and strengthening the body, building alignment, and the artistic use of this knowledge—will be shared in this workshop.
Each class will consist of warm up exercises, center studies (fortifications, preludes, and coordination combinations) and class sequences. By the end of the workshop, participants will have a deeper understanding of the history and framework of the Lester Horton technique and its integration to Alvin Ailey’s choreographic process and iconic works.
The online option is taught by The Ailey School Horton instructor, Lakey Evans-Peña. A total of 12 pre-recorded classes will be available to participants between Monday, July 12 - Friday, July 23, allowing students to take the workshop at their own pace. No audition is required.
