IN-STUDIO: Samba
About This Class
This class is designed for dancers to learn and improve their Samba no pé technique (footwork), posture, and performance skills. Exploring Samba's cultural essence, its roots, without losing their self-expression in the process. The class starts with a gentle warm-up that includes isolations, basic postures, and a stretching routine aimed at improving flexibility and balance.
Samba class will not only cover the basic steps of samba for the less experienced dancers but also guide the more experienced dancers in class to diving into their samba, improve stamina, and increase the variety of movements.

How In-Studio Classes Work
1. Sign up for class in advance, no on-site sign-ups will be permitted.
2. Upload vaccine card (must show full vaccination and booster as of 4/1/22) to MindBody account here.
3. Arrive at the Ailey Studios with your mask on. Locker rooms are currently available at limited capacity.
4. Dance! Social distancing measures are active throughout the Ailey building.
Please note that registration closes 1 hour before class. Registration is currently limited to 20 students to abide by social distancing guidelines and is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
