This class is designed for students to develop basic knowledge of ballet terminology with slow and thorough exercises to ensure a better understanding of body alignment and vocabulary.
Kids & Teens contemporary classes are designed to work on finding freedom in the use of movement while developing technique and building a strong foundation.
Jessica Amber Pinkett (Baltimore, MD) began her dance training at Baltimore Dance Tech under the direction of Stephanie Powell. Ms. Pinkett has trained as a scholarship student at The Ailey School, Dance Theater of Harlem and Bates Dance Festival. She is a proud graduate from George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology and she graduated with honors from Towson University, earning her B.F.A in dance performance and choreography. She has performed as a guest artist with The Black Iris Project and was a member of Ailey II before joining the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2018.Learn More About Jessica

Ms. Pinkett is a bronze medal recipient from the NAACP ACT-SO competition in Dance. She has had the privilege of performing works by choreographers Alvin Ailey, Judith Jamison, Tally Beatty, Rennie Harris, Robert Battle, Matthew Rushing, Hope Boykin, Camille A. Brown, Aszure Barton, Jamar Roberts, Jae Man Joo, Linda-Denise Fisher- Harrell, Ray Mercer, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Juel Lane, Kirven Douthit-Boyd and many others. She has performed as a guest artist with The Black Iris Project and was a member of Ailey II before joining the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 2018.
Ms. Pinkett has been featured in campaigns for Coach, Equinox Hotels, Verizon, OOFOS and Jesus Christ Superstar. She has also performed with musical artists including Emmi, Madison McFerrin, Jussie Smollett, The Shindellas and others. Ms. Pinkett has performed on Good Morning America, Logo’s Trailblazer Awards and the Apollo Cafe. Now Ms. Pinkett continues building within her artistry as a freelancer, teacher, choreographer and pursuing her passion as a filmmaker.
