Maddy Runyon

Freelance Dancer

Maddy Runyon began taking flamenco classes at age 6 when her family moved to Seville, Spain. After returning to the Northern New York, she began ballet training at the Lake Placid School of Dance, under the leadership of Michela Boschetto, where she continued throughout middle and high school. Maddy has attended summer intensives with Ballet Hispanico, the Gelsey Kirkland Academy, ABT New York, Jessica Lang Dance, and Mark Morris Dance. During summers she has also enjoyed choreographing for Book and Blanket Players Musical-in-a-Week workshop. She attended St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM, before transferring to the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in Dance in 2018. Maddy has had the opportunity to work with Kyle Marshall, Davalois Fearon, Richard Chen See, and Rebecca Kelley, and has performed works by William Isaac, Yoshito Sakuraba, and Darshan Bhuller. She graduated from the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program in spring 2021 with a BFA in dance and a minor in Engineering Physics.
