FREE Summer Dance Celebration for All
You’re invited to the event of the season! This summer, Ailey presents a free dance celebration for New York City, the cultural capital of the world. Join Ailey Moves NYC!, a 10-day series of outdoor activities for all ages across the five boroughs. Enjoy performances by Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II, dance in classes and workshops led by Ailey’s Arts In Education and Ailey Extension teachers and musicians, meet current students from the acclaimed Ailey School, and watch the stirring documentary AILEY out in the open air.

SummerStage presents in association with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Everyone can dance with Ailey! Join the processional down the Boardwalk to the Amphitheater as Ailey's drummers and dancers lead the young and young at heart in a fun-filled West African dance and music workshop. Don't leave without your souvenir fan, a signature prop from Alvin Ailey's masterwork, Revelations.

SummerStage presents in association with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Join us at the Amphitheater at the Coney Island Boardwalk for a thrilling night of dance. The Company will perform Alvin Ailey’s Revelations, the work that defined them as one of the greatest dance companies of all time; and Hip-Hop choreographer Rennie Harris’ Lazarus, a recent work inspired by the life and times of Mr. Ailey. No tickets required; seating is first-come, first-seated.

Step into the world of African and Caribbean dance traditions and their irresistible Latin rhythms. Join Ailey dance instructors, accompanied by live drumming for an afternoon of fun for all—everyone can dance with Ailey!

AileyDance for Active Aging
Presented by Ailey Arts In Education & Community Programs
Everyone can dance! Ailey's signature program for older adults, AileyDance for Active Aging, comes to Hansborough Recreation Center. Join us for dance and conversation and learn about Alvin Ailey's masterwork Revelations. After a dance warm up for both seated and standing individuals, participants will learn modified excerpts of Revelations, which still resonates more than 60 years after its premiere.

Presented by Ailey Extension in association with Times Square Alliance
Ailey Extension is “bringing dance back to the people” in Times Square with free outdoor classes hosted by Ailey instructors. Learn the foundations of mambo with Katherine Jimenez during this NY Style Mambo class that takes Latin dance back to its roots. This class is open to people of all ages and all levels of dance experience. Everyone can dance with Ailey!

Ailey Extension is “bringing dance back to the people” in Times Square with free outdoor classes hosted by Ailey instructors. Immerse yourself in West African music and culture with Maguette Camara for a West African dance class featuring live drumming. This class is open to people of all ages and all levels of dance experience. Everyone can dance with Ailey!
