Teen Ballet, Hip-Hop, or Contemporary Jazz
Ages: 12-17

Summer Term: June 3 - July 29 (8 sessions)

There is no placement audition for these classes.
No prior dance experience necessary.

Teen Contemporary Jazz is fun, high energy class that explores the expressive style of jazz. Students will develop a foundation of the basic jazz movements including jumps, turns, across the floor progression, and stylized movement. This class will encourage students to bring their individuality and unique personality to the class.

Teen Hip-Hop I is a one hour class focused on the popular urban cultural style of dance that will introduce moves featured in today’s popular music videos. This environment allows you to gain confidence and build self esteem.

Teen Hip-Hop II fuses classic party dance moves, popping & locking drills, and basic breaking combos with a touch of new school hip-hop energy. Teens will learn about the culture of hip-hop and all of its elements including basic breaking skills like footwork, freezes and more.

Teen Ballet is designed to develop the dancer’s technique. The focus of this class will be to correct posture, increase flexibility, gain strength and learn the vocabulary of ballet. This environment allows young dancer’s to gain confidence and build self esteem.
