Nancy Turano
Biography
Nancy Turano, faculty at The Ailey School since 1996, trained with Alfredo Corvino, BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase, recipient of “Outstanding Alumni” by Chancellor of SUNY Schools, principal dancer with Ballet Hispanico of New York, Buglisi/Foreman Dance, Artistic Director of NJDTE since 1994. Choreographic Credits: NJDTE 18 original works, Luna Negra Dance Theater, Ailey BFA Program, Swedish National Ballet School, Harkness Youth Ballet (founding Dir.), Bat-Dor School Israe, and “Law and Order." Her "Carmen" was featured on PBS and Tango Octogenario featured on PBS and New Directors/New Films at Lincoln Center. Teaching Credits: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Ailey II, Ballet Hispanico, Aspen Ballet, National Ballet of Panama, Teatro San Martin Argentina, Bat-Dor, Swedish National Ballet School, Vancouver Arts Umbrella, NYU, Celine Dion’s “A New Day.”
