Pre-Professional Program
The Ailey School’s Pre-Professional Program offers a diverse range of curriculum-based dance training classes taught by distinguished faculty for students ages 7-17 and offers performance opportunities for students from beginner to pre-professional. Auditions and class placement are required for this program.
Independent Study Program
A one-year program offering the same intensive dance technique training as the Certificate Program, without a three-year commitment.
Scholarship Program
A highly competitive program offering merit-based financial support for students ages 17-21 who show the highest potential for a career in dance.
Certificate Program
A three-year program for advanced/beginner to intermediate level students ages 17-23 who have completed their secondary school requirements.
Ailey/Fordham BFA Program
An innovative partnership between The Ailey School and Fordham University, combining dance and the liberal arts in a 4-year program.
Teens at Ailey
Classes in various dance styles for teens ages 12-17 are offered through Ailey Extension. Open to dancers of all levels and dance backgrounds.
Kids at Ailey
Classes in various dance styles for kids ages 5-11 are offered through Ailey Extension. Open to dancers of all levels and dance backgrounds
Ailey Athletic Boys
A program for boys between the ages of 7-10 who exhibit a strong interest in dance. The program offers access to conservatory caliber training with scholarship support.
First Steps and Bounding Boys
Weekly classes for boys and girls ages 3 to 6 that help develop movement skills, coordination, and creativity.
