Dance & Fitness Classes for Adults
The Ailey Extension offers "real classes for real people" (ages 16 and up). With more than 80 dance and fitness classes each week, there's something for everyone at any experience level.
Series for Kids & Teens Ailey offers recreational courses and pre-professional training for kids and teens ages 2-17.
Professional Classes
The Ailey School offers open classes for dancers with three of more years of formal or professional dance training.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater was founded in 1958 by dancer, choreographer and visionary Alvin Ailey, to bring African-American cultural expression and the American modern dance tradition to the world.

Since 1974, Ailey II has been a peerless showcase for rising young dancers and choreographers.
Our prestigious faculty trains 3,500 students annually in our Professional Division and Junior Division programs for aspiring dancers.

The Ailey School
Founded in 1969, The Ailey School serves approximately 3,500 students each year, offering over 300 classes weekly in a wide range of dance techniques taught by the highest-caliber instructors in the field. The Ailey School is among the most diverse dance schools in the nation, with students representing a broad spectrum of cultural backgrounds from across the country and around the world.
The Ailey School, in collaboration with Fordham University, also offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree program in dance which combines classes in dance technique and performance opportunities with a liberal arts core curriculum taught by Fordham University faculty.
