About Broadway Jazz Performance Workshop with Sue Samuels

Give us 8 weeks to give you a dance experience you will never forget. If you have always dreamed of dancing on stage, here’s a chance to challenge yourself with a top-notch choreographer, improve your performing skills and learn a Broadway style jazz dance. This workshop will progress to a fun and creative choreographed routine that you can practice and perfect over the course of the workshop. Workshop culminates in three performances in the Kat Wildish Performing in NY Showcase at the Ailey Citigroup Theater.
Come join in the fun with a Fosse inspired jazz dance “Bye Bye Blackbird”. All levels are welcome! This workshop is for dancers ages 16+.
Performances:
- Friday, March 29 at 7pm
- Saturday March 30 at 3pm & 7pm

About Sue Samuels:
Teacher, choreographer and performer Sue Samuels has established herself as a staple of the modern performing arts community. Ms. Samuels’ expertise from 35 years of experience keeps her in demand as a mentor and coach by professional and amateur artists from around the world. Her students have included stars from the stage and screen including Melba Moore, Irene Cara and Brooke Shields. Ms. Samuels began her dance training with Broward Civic Ballet in Florida, where she performed with the Company for six years. Her jazz training includes work with JoJo Smith, Frank Hatchett and Michael Shawn. Ms. Samuels’ background in ballet and jazz has influenced her classical jazz style, which focuses on strong, proper body alignment and clean technique.
