Dionna PridGeon has devoted many years in establishing herself as a freelance artist. Originally from Chicago, her extensive training in multiple dance styles has helped her become an extremely versatile dancer and gifted Master Teacher! She is currently on faculty at The Ailey Extension and The Joffrey Ballet School of New York City; she is also on Guest Faculty at Steps on Broadway and Gibney Dance Center, Sub Faculty at Broadway Dance Center, as well as a Dance Therapy Instructor for Eryc Taylor Dance, Inc. Dionna has also had the privilege to share her teaching at many other prestigious facilities such as: Hubbard Street Dance Center/Lou Conte Dance Studio, Visceral Dance Center, Edge Performing Arts Center, Debbie Reynolds Dance Studio, Movement Lifestyle, The Joffrey Ballet Academy of Dance (Chicago), Peridance Capezio Center and in Stavanger, Norway. Aside from teaching, she has performed works by many dance icons in concert dance: Lou Conte, Robert Battle, Daniel Ezralow, Danny Burczeski, Margo Sappington, Doug Bentz, Keisha Llama-White, Kim Bears Bailey, etc. As well as, Commercial choreographers: NappyTabs, Shaun Evaristo, Jun Quemado, Kevin Maher, Rhapsody, Luam, Tony Testa, Tony Tzar, Matt Cady, Benjamin Allen, Dana Wilson, Justin Giles, etc. She has served as a summer apprentice with Deeply Rooted Productions, received scholarships and recognition from Monsters of Hip Hop, The Pulse on Tour and Dance Spirit Magazine.
This past summer she was also featured as a Guest Judge for the Pulse on Tour New York City! She has worked as a Resident Choreographer of Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, and as a dance intern for The Debbie Allen Dance Academy and Ballroom Dance Chicago; she also holds a BA in dance from Point Park University. Her choreography has been showcased at: Chicago’s Orchestra Hall, Pritzker Pavilion - Millennium Park, and The Athenaeum Theatre, at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Choreographer’s Carnival in both Chicago and Los Angeles, The Symphony Space & Salvatore Capezio Theater in New York.
